Freon refrigeration systems

Design and installation of Freon refrigeration systems, from centralised plants and screw compressors to modern low-charge solutions.

Synthetic refrigerants, commonly referred to as “Freons”, have played an important role in the development of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.

They enabled a wide range of solutions, from individual refrigeration units to large centralised systems.

In recent decades, technology has moved towards newer refrigerants with lower climate impact, some of which require additional design, safety and control measures.

Marco & Alex experience

Over the years, Marco & Alex has completed hundreds of refrigeration installations using synthetic refrigerants, contributing to the introduction of new technologies in Romania.

Our milestones include Romania’s first centralised Freon refrigeration system at Angst Colentina and the country’s first industrial Freon systems fitted with Bitzer screw compressors.

When Marco & Alex represented Bitzer in Romania, its specialists received technical training directly from the manufacturer.

Technology evolution

Today, the use of synthetic refrigerants in high-capacity installations is increasingly limited, with natural refrigerant solutions often preferred.

For smaller applications, Marco & Alex also uses independent circuits with reduced refrigerant charges to limit the consequences of equipment failures and refrigerant leaks.

System selection balances application requirements, energy efficiency, operational safety and environmental impact.
